Meet Kate George, a surface pattern designer and illustrator based in Seattle, Washington. Kate’s work is heavily influenced by the natural world. With a passion for exploring the outdoors, Kate dreams up playful illustrations and abstract patterns designed to inspire people to take to nature and get off the beaten path.

Tell us about your passions and how they influence your artwork.

My passions are biking, plants and snacks! These all show up so much in my work. I love walking around town or going for a bike ride and taking pictures of beautiful plants. And if you’re adventuring with me, you will not be disappointed by the snack options.

What are a few of your favorite outdoor hobbies?

Mountain biking is my favorite, but also rock climbing, skiing and tennis. I’m hoping to get into packrafting soon too!

Do you have a favorite national park?

Canyonlands! I love the area. It’s just so unique and spectacular.
